This little fellow was born in the middle of winter. While baby llamas (called "crias") are born liberally covered with wool, we like to make sure they stay warm enough when temperatures are low, by using a cria blanket. Llamas are cold-weather animals and weather the winters just fine when they are well nourished and have shelter from the wind and rain or snow. Provisions need to be made for hot weather: shade, air flow, fresh water and shearing. Return
